Polycot Associates Seeks an Experienced
Web Development
Project Manager
(Remote)

Our member-owned, privately held, self-funded, and thriving cooperative web development agency seeks a talented project manager who can expertly help us manage our workflow and support client care and relations.

We are seeking a contractor who is available for ongoing, consistent work across multiple projects during USA work hours. The ideal candidate would have potential interest in eventually becoming a member-owner of our cooperative partnership. Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ are encouraged to apply.

Our ideal candidate has some experience in Drupal and WordPress development and is passionate about Open Source ideals and community. You are also not new to the game: you’ve seen where the Web has been, know where it is now, and understand where it’s going.

You are our “air traffic controller,” a person who understands multiple perspectives on development projects, who understands what the platforms can do to help support our development efforts with our stellar clients. As a contributor to our mutual success, you ensure that developers are focused on relevant work and protected from administrative tasks and issues.  You will come to know the strengths and weaknesses of every team member, and you will leverage that knowledge for optimal task allocation, as well as for motivating everyone ideally.

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage project time effectively.
  • Present and update tasks clearly in one place so that developers can readily find what they need to understand and effectively complete tasks.
  • Provide ongoing clear and up-to-date information about hours and budgets so that developers and clients have persistent clarity about project status.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to define development needs and groom them into clear, understandable tasks.
  • Oversee the discovery phase to define the overall project. This includes clarifying project goals, planning relevant tasks, identifying dependencies, determining projected task durations, organizing tasks and time as sprints, and more.
  • Liaise between the 1-3 developers (depending on the project), the client, and other stakeholders.
  • Allocate tasks, organize team meetings, handle daily routines, track progress, address all current and upcoming issues, identify, and remove blockers, gather regular feedback from the client, and more.
  • Ensure that the client’s concept is understood correctly for every task and that the project’s time and budget constraints are understood and fully met.
  • Comprehensive hour and budget tracking for internal administration needs as well as for Client sprint reporting.
  • Complete a report for the Client at the end of each sprint clearly explaining what was accomplished, how the sprint advanced the project, any constraints that were identified, etc.
  • Remain engaged throughout the whole web development cycle.
